Javatown Swing Orchestra
The Javatown Swing Orchestra is an organization of talent, energy, and style that leaves audiences chanting for more. The band plays tunes from the 30s to the 70s with its own brand of class and style.
Doing mostly classic tunes of the Big-Band and Jump-Blues eras rearranged for four horns, guitar, acoustic bass, and drums, it packs the punch of a little big band without the overwhelming volume.
Topping it off are the fantastic soloists throughout, weaving jazz lines within the sets to give dancers time to groove and jazz enthusiasts time to dig. In addition to Jake on trumpet and vocals, core players include Jim Sisko on trumpet, Travis Ranney on tenor sax, Dan Haeck on trombone, Dan Kramlich on piano, Michael Glynn on bass, and Stefan Schatz on drums.
With back-lit, “retro” stage fronts (a la Glenn Miller), period attire or tuxedos, and a swanky stage appearance, the Javatown Swing Orchestra is not only one of the best sounding, but also the best looking bands on the Seattle Metro swing scene.
